Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Rothberg International School offers an internship program for semester/one-year program students. As part of my time here, I am looking to find opportunities to both be effected by and affect my surroundings simultaneously. Today I interviewed with Ruder Finn Israel, a marketing and public relations firm based in Jerusalem. It was the first English-language firm to open in Israel (in 1977) and it is also a part of Ruder Finn Intl, the third largest PR firm in the States. I decided to apply at Ruder Finn on account of their record representing art non-profits, Israeli interests as well as some more controversial work in the political realm. The internship is very much hands-on. I would most likely be working directly with clients, media, press releases and account executives.
Upon interviewing, I was offered a position as an intern for the fall semester, with the opportunity to begin immediately. This is an awesome opportunity, one which I’m looking forward to making the most out of. The only question left is how much I can work (it’s unpaid, not a big surprise) while still being able to go out and have fun while I’m here.
